Born into blood, I was a mafia princess. Raised in hiding, I was a Californian sweetheart.

The day my father sold my thirteen year old body to pay off a five year old debt was the day my mother stole me in the dead of night. She protected me as she was supposed to.

My father may have been the king, but my mother was the queen.

The mafia blood was hers.

That was ten years ago. Now… the devil was on the loose.

Carlo ‘Hunter’ Rosso was my father’s right hand man and the boy I’d loved since I could tie my own shoelaces. He was always the most ruthless and the most deadly of all the children.

He’d thought I was dead until the day his assignment was given: Kill Adriana and Alexandria Romano. Kill the princess, and definitely kill the queen.

What he didn’t know was that the queen was dead, and the princess had taken her throne.

Blood didn’t lie. It smeared, distorted, stained. But it didn’t lie.

My father was going to learn the hard way that the empire he’d stolen belonged to me.

And so did Carlo ‘Hunter’ Rosso.

I know what you're thinking: another mafia book?! I can't help it...mafia books are one of my weaknesses when it comes romance. Not only do you get some action and drama over who gets the most power over the city. Yes, there will be violence, drugs and sex. But, it's the parts where connections are made and bonds that form that make the story more interesting. How love can blossom in the most crazy situations.

Thoughts:

PLOT LINE - What makes this story so special? For starters, when you think of mafia bosses, you may think an alpha male with a domineering nature, right? Well, this one has a queen. A mafia empire run by a strong female lead, Alexandria. Although she had to flee in order to save her daughter, she had played a few hands before her husband, Enzio, wants her dead. The only way Enzio can truly control the power is to kill her and his daughter. After 10 years, Adriana want what is rightfully hers. Over all her father's BS, she is ready to go up against him. The only problem is Hunter. The boy she fell in love with ten years ago. The man who is sent to kill her.

CHEMISTRY - It's either her life or yours. Can you truly kill someone you have loved? Maybe. Maybe the love is still there. Maybe the love has faded. Although Hunter has turned into a trained killer since he last laid eyes on Adriana, he couldn't put a bullet between her eyes. They may not be the same people ten years ago. However, the love they had for each other never faded. Ten years of not knowing she was alive had changed Hunter. It turned him into someone he didn't want to be. Once she came back into his life, the tables have turned. He would do everything to protect her. When you get to part where he laid eyes on her again, you will feel this intensity. An intensity that will bring out all the sexiness of Hunter. An intensity that will eventually lead to hot sexy times. ;)

Overall, Hunter was a great read. The connection between Hunter and Adriana did drive the plot line. Hunter was my favorite part in the book. And, I loved everything about him. Adriana, on the other hand, just annoyed me at times. In the end, I really liked how everything turned out.
