One word.
Stay.

It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him.

That was seventeen years ago.

I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.

Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe. However, fate has a way of stepping in.

This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision. Second chances do exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been broken . . .

** This book is a STANDALONE **

I've heard so many good things about this book before I read it. Did it match my expectations? More or less. Say You'll Stay is my third read by Corinne Michaels (The Belonged Duet was my first series by her) and she is wonderful writer with the little details that will make you fall in love with her characters. Second chance romances are my go-to pick for romances. When I saw it, I knew I had to read it! Sometimes things don't work out the way you wanted it the first time around. When there is a second chance, you go ahead and grab it by the horns.

PLOT LINE - Another aspect of the story that I loved was the small town setting. Zack and Presley grew up knowing they were meant to be with one another. Everyone knew it. They can see the love, smiles, and laughs they share were meant for a lifetime. They weren't surprised when Presley followed him to the university he attended. The only surprise is when things didn't work out. Through heartbreak and emotional breakdowns, Presley had to piece her heart back together. Almost 2 decades later, things began to fall apart again for Presley. In order to pick up back her life again, she has to return to her hometown, where everyone knows just about everything. How long can she keep her story from getting out? What if there is a chance she'll run into Zack? Will old wounds reopen and pain will

CHEMISTRY - I loved the first half of the book. All the anger coming from Presley and angst from Zack made the book so enjoyable. She has been through a lot of sh*tty things in her life. And when bad memories start to come back, all that negative energy has to get out somehow. The second their eyes meet, the attraction between them is instant. It's like 18 years have not passed by when they last seen each other. When a guy tries to woo back the girl of his dreams...it's an adventure because you don't know what to expect. I just love how Presley makes it harder to get past the things that happened before. Forgiving someone isn't easy. The more they fight for what they want, the better outcome it will be in the end. You will do just about anything for the person you love. The chemistry between Presley and Zack are sweet and loving. You can really tell they really care about each other despite all the anger. Rebuilding a relationship is hard but it's also exciting to discover new things about them when so much time has passed.

** 4 STAY STARS **

EXCERPT

“Hey.” Zach peers at me as I shake off my thoughts. “I figured you’d be asleep.” He climbs the steps slowly as I get to my feet.
“I figured you’d be gone.”
I walk toward him, unsure of why he’s here. “I left for a bit, but wanted to come check on you.”
“Oh.”
He snickers. “I couldn’t sleep.”
“Me either.” He’s close enough that I can smell his cologne. Even after a long night, being in the woods, he smells like home.
I take another step.
Then another.
I’m so close I have to tilt my head to look into his eyes.
I breathe him in, feel his heat, and I can’t stop myself. I want him. I need him. I grip his neck and yank his mouth to mine. I kiss him. I kiss him and give in to everything I’ve been feeling. He doesn’t waste a second. His arms wrap around me, holding my body against his. My fingers grip his neck, keeping him exactly where I need him. This kiss is frantic, but God it feels good.
