A LITTLE FAKE RELATIONSHIP NEVER HURT ANYONE . . .
Kate Massie has big dreams-they just haven’t worked out. Yet. In the meantime, she spends her days clerking for a judge and her nights fantasizing about her tall, dark, and sexy gym crush. So when she runs into him one night, she’s shocked to realize he was her shy, nerdy junior-prom date. But that isn’t where the surprises end . . .
James Abell needs a date to his sister’s wedding. So when Kate agrees, he’s relieved . . . until one little lie turns their wedding date into a full-blown fake relationship. Only it doesn’t feel fake-not the toe-curling kisses and definitely not the electricity. Neither of them is looking for something real . . . but they just might fall for their own little white lie.
Thoughts:
PLOT LINE - From the moment they met, the realization of how they were former dates to a junior prom was adorable. More so, since James remembers her before she remembers him. It means Kate had a impact on his life back then and will most likely have a bigger impact on his life now. It's like fate brought them back together. This story is the journey of a relationship blossoming from a fake one to a real one. He is already half in love with her...the only thing is having her realize that she was falling in love with him as well. I just find it hilarious how although they believe it's fake, it all feels real. So, they might as well make it official. With the help from his family, the dynamic between everyone makes the process even more enjoyable. There are a few bumps in the story that create a bit of drama, increasing the tension between James and Kate. It just shows that not everything is perfect as it may seem.
CHEMISTRY - It was definitely there when they first laid eyes on each other. Even though she didn't recognize him at first, she can feel the tension and spark. Not only did Kate have an instant connection with him, but also with his family. She played her role as his girlfriend so easily that she can't even tell if it was fake or not. What's great is that they were all so welcoming towards her. Sure, it may seem like just "3 week" relationship". It feels like they have known each other for years. It also didn't help when she fantasies about him (especially ones she shouldn't even imagine when his mother is in the room).
Overall, it was a fun read!

Kelly Eadon is a romance writer living in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and a house full of rescue animals, aka “the kraken”. She swears like a sailor and says whatever pops into her head. In order to counteract her big mouth, she wears high heels whenever possible. In her spare time she spins, kick boxes and attempts to renovate her farmhouse. She hates sanding drywall, loves to cook, drinks lots of wine, gets scary competitive at trivia, and enjoys time spent exploring with her rescued beagle mixes. –
